Firefox bookmarks - how to copy and merge on 2 different PCs?

Hi
Hope someone can help.
We have Firefox as our browser on the main PC and our laptop.
We have saved different bookmarks on the PC and laptop and would like to merge the two lists so we have the same bookmarks on the PC and laptop.
We know how to copy/export the bookmarks from the PC. We could save this file to a pen drive, copy it on to laptop and then try to restore from Firefox on the laptop but what we don't know is if this will completely wipe the different ones which are on the laptop but not on the PC.
Or is it clever enough to just overwrite any additional ones?
Hope I've explained that well enough:o:eek: Many thx!

Have you looked at foxmarks0

Hi
Yes I've just looked at the info on that on the Firefox page but when you scroll down there is feedback from people saying it doesn't work, so I'd rather just try the simple copying myself than risk downloading something that might not work or cause problems with my bookmarks - unless people use Foxmarks and can feedback that it works well?
Many thx.0 -
Yes you can import the bookmarks from another pc.
It won't wipe off your existing bookmarks.
You just get them added to your existing bookmarks.
Firefox isn't clever enough to merge them or over-write duplicates.
I've never used Foxmarks.

I'm not 100% on how to do it on PC, but from what I recall on the Mac version this is how I used to do it:
Go to Organise Bookmarks (Bookmarks menu).
Somewhere on the Organise Bookmarks Pane, there will be an option to export bookmarks as HTML. Do it and save to pen drive or however you wish to copy it onto your other PC.
On your other PC, do the same expect select import Bookmarks as HTML. The Bookmarks will now be merged.
You can then do then export again to your other PC.
Bit long winded and I'm sure there's an easier way, but it works.
I guess another way if you want to do it to more than one PC or access your bookmarks from another PC is to use Google bookmarks or use http://delicious.com/, for which both have FireFox addons the last time I looked to help integrate and sync them with your computer(s).0 -
OP you need the add-on called XMarks (formerly FoxMarks).
This will synchronise your bookmarks between both PC's as and when you update them.0 -
Yes xmarks is brilliant,no need to lug laptops about when i visit family far away.i just download xmarks on there pc bang in my login details and i have all my stuff, theres also
