I asked my bank to write to me, not ring me, and haven't had any problems since.0

The situation i am talking about is where they call to sell me another product rather than to deal with something specific on my account.
What i am saying is that they ask me to take on trust that they are who they say they are and divulge something confidential.
It is not even-handed in terms of security.
What annoys my wife is when the bank where my joint account rings and asks to speak to me or my wife, and won't speak to the other for security reasons.
Also I get mildly irritated at having to go through security to ask some generic questions about how certain accounts operate- without actually getting any info on my account holdings or doing any transactions.0
