Banks asking for security checks

I asked my bank to write to me, not ring me, and haven't had any problems since.

It is not even-handed in terms of security.

What annoys my wife is when the bank where my joint account rings and asks to speak to me or my wife, and won't speak to the other for security reasons.

Also I get mildly irritated at having to go through security to ask some generic questions about how certain accounts operate- without actually getting any info on my account holdings or doing any transactions.

Register with TPS - Telephone preference service. They will see you are registered and will not call.

Unfortunately TPS doesn't apply to any company you do business with.
