can l link my camera direct to tv

cannot seem to download my pics onto my laptop , l attatch the connector to it but the screen stays blank:(
l had no prob with this on my old computer do l need to add a prog to my laptop to do this ??

in the meantime my sister seems to think l can plug my camera direct into tv to view pics
l have a samsumg tv just 6 mths old , not sure what connection im looking for on the tv to do this

What video output do you have on the laptop, and what video input on your TV? What cable are you using?
To switch video output to an external monitor on a laptop you usually have to toggle the Fn key and one of the other keys, the manual should tell you.
Would help if you gave the make and model of your laptop.

depends on the camera of course, but most/lots has a 3.5mm type socket and come with a lead with a couple of phonos on the end to go to the TV ( sony and canon cameras do)

my sony needs to have it own driver installed 1st, windows won't see it else

do you have a usb sd card reader, the sort that you plug your sd card into and then plug the usb into the pc? or can you borrow one?

or can you see the camera connected via "my computer" and access it that way?

all this is soooooo over my head but in meantime have managed to get pics onto laptop must have pressed the right thing but god knows what it was
