Car workshop manuals

Are these worth buying for profit? My local Oxfam shop has a pile of various hardback car manuals, mostly from the 1980s, at 20p each. Do any of you know how likely they are to sell on ebay, Amazon or other mail order buying and selling site I haven't thought of?

Actually i had pondered that very thing before now. If you were to do it, start a entry level ebay shop - if you don't have one already - put the manuals on as inventory at a 'buy it now' price - from memory with an ebay shop you can do that for 6p for 60 days or something like that and sit back and wait...

you could easily check to see how successful other workshop manual sellers are by looking at their id history...

The ones that sell on ebay are for newish vehicles something like up to 10 years old. The manuals usually found in the second hand shops are for older models. It's also worth checking the postage rates which can be very expensive for manuals especially with the new royal mail rates coming in next month!

I heard there are some pretty rare, discontinued manuals which are rather sought after... you could try searching for completed auctions to see which ones fetched good prices.

Follow Frivoulous Fay's Advice or don't bother, as I bought some at a car boot sale and had trouble shifting them. The problem is the high shipping cost due to weight.
