It seems very confusing. Why did they decide to change it anyway?

It is because they are losing out on money when someone sends something very light and flat that is say 1 metre x 1 metre square.

In the outback it's strap it to the nearest kangaroo and sit back and wait for the reply isn't it?

I thought the kangaroo telepathically took the message

"What's that Skippy, someones fallen down a disused mineshaft and broken their leg...???"

I thought it was because the machinery kept getting clogged up with those big A4 envelopes!

Am sure it will be fine in my PO after the first day or two (hopefully).

  • Measuring the thickness of squishy packages will be awkward. I could easily pack, for instance, a thin T-shirt to fit the Large Letter maximum dimensions, but what happens if, after getting knocked around in the postal system, it finishes up more than 25mm thick when it arrives at the sorting office near its destination?
The worst bit is that anything over 25mm thick will cost at least £1 to send 1st class, which means that the price of sending a photographic film to a processing lab will suddenly increase by 212.5%!
