Hardship problems

Hi to all,
I have been trying for approx 5 months to get Clydesdale Bank to acknowledge that after being on benefits for 8 months(I was made redundant) I wished to claim back bank charges under the hardship rules.
After several letters and after twice sending in expenditure forms which clearly show I am on hardship income, they have informed me that they have examined my case but still come to the decision that I am not in hardship, therefore not entitled to any remuneration.
I have asked them for my back-dated charges for the past six years, and I have been totally ignored, even though my request has gone past the forty-day response period.
Can any one on the forum give me advice on how to proceed with this bank.
I am literally at my wits end with the bank's heartless atitude.
Kind regards to all, Tom Young.

Couple of point really, 40 day period is about SAR. 8 weeks is for complaints.
What evidence did you provide to the Bank?
Are you still using the account in question?
Have you read the lending code?
When were you made redundant(since that is the likely point of reference for the bank)?
Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax,utilities)?0 -
I don't fully understand you, sorry. Haven't the bank responded saying that their decision is that you don't qualify under hardship?ty010d1046 wrote: »...After several letters and after twice sending in expenditure forms which clearly show I am on hardship income, they have informed me that they have examined my case but still come to the decision that I am not in hardship, therefore not entitled to any remuneration.

Is that letter a "deadlock" letter? If so, you can take the matter to the FOS, otherwise you'll need to wait until at least 8 weeks has elapsed (about 40 working days)."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
