    Hi livininhope,

That's a pretty high debt, how are you coping?

Is there any other help out there to sort out my debt? Apart from getting another job or working extra hours + not paying my cr. c. bill for a while (I give it a go) there is nothing else I could think of, is it? One more, squeeze my outgoings even more (even there is not much left to squeeze).

    Sorry Tomandjerry

as you've said your outgoings are already squeezed. Its either earning more or working out payment plans with your creditors. Are you going to call CCCS?

Hi taj, well done for taking the first step and looking into the CCCS :D WHEN you get in touch with them, you MUST be totally honest and tell them EVERYTHING :o I hope you do this and get yourself sorted asap.
Thanks for asking how I am coping with such a high debt, well the truth is only just coping.Payplan have been brilliant and we pay 115/month on a DMP,our debt free date has been said to be 58 years  but we hope to clear it before we die :p
Just to let you know,we had debts of around 25k that we were managing very well, then we had 3 redundancies and major illness,we started using CC to pay CC until more money would come in,but it never did,we were just coping when our house burnt down,we were underinsured and now have the 107k debt,we had to face our problems without the wonderful help of the people on here, when I at last did find this site,I found myself pouring my heart out, that's how I cope.
Moral of the story,GET HELP,and keep posting for support,it will get better when that lightbulb starts to glow :D

Forgot to say, please don't apply for that credit card you were talking about on the CC forum,it will just make your problems worse and will delay you getting help as you will have a spare card to spend on and increase your debt.

    Hi guys,

A little update as I have been sorting my finances out. I rang my loan company (last week) and was told that they could decrease my APR from 17.9% to 7.9% :j . Yeah, right!! Tough, too good to be true!
I called them again as they were taking their time to get back to me and was told to cancel my business acc, so I did (not using it anymore). Rang back again and apparently the application for decrease apr was declined and they couldn't tell me why. Personal lending department (pld) is going to call me in a few days and let me know if yes or no for lower apr. Kepp fingers x, but I'm sceptical. I'm thinking about early settlement as monthly payments take nearly half of my wage every month  if the anser from pld is NO. What's your advice?

Good news is that I arranged my CCCS app. in 3 weeks time, just b4 my hols. :T so I should enjoy and psychologically prepare myself.

Thanks for any advice and give me some hope, please.

  • HI there,

I too have had difficulty with my finances, I also had a large Credit card and 2 personal loans with Lloyds.

I went in to see my account manager and they put me in contact with the refiance people based in Lloyds. They have taken my debt with them which stands at £20K the repayment were over £500 I now pay only £204. :T :A

Is it worth you going to see an account manager?

Thanks for a great suggestion, I do that tomorrow. :T
I think the reason I didn't get it could be my credit score (could be low).
    Wish me luck.
