Why can't I view BBC videos

Hi there

Got a new Dell studio and running Windows 7 but am unable to watch BBC videos. Have tried using IE and Firefox but no good. It just hangs. Any ideas?

Have you got the Adobe Flash plugin installed.
To find out, with Firefox go into Tools > Add-ons > Plugins.
There should be listed in there 'Shockwave Flash'.

Ah yes i had the same problem last week, didnt find a solution as it only started on friday and lasted until sunday so i put it down to either the bbc end or my isp. Have you tried downloading the video and the watching it

But still BBCIplayer doesn't work. What else can I try?

Open IE and install that.

I dunno.

For me, it's a better experience if I download it and watch in my own viewer instead of the browser.

That's the same thing. When it's installed it is listed as 'Shockwave Flash'.

Well I would still install the flashplayer plugins rather shockwave.

Once installed, clear cache and test. Try youtube as well.

Also the BBC iplayer wont work if the computer is deemed to be outside of the UK (could be ip related).

Still no good! Youtube was working yesterday - not working today. Can't even seem to download bbc progs and watch in media player.
