Using Tesco Clubcard vouchers for Hastings Hotels

Hi all,

I am thinking of booking the Slieve Donard in Newcastle for a short break (2 adults and 2 children) and I would like to use some clubcard vouchers.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of booking with vouchers. Do I need to phone them for a price? I was looking at their website, but I can't get a price for a family room.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the actual booking but I met a couple on the train in England and they told me they had stayed in Slieve Donard on their vouchers and it was brilliant.
  • I've stayed a couple of times at the Slieve using Tesco vouchers.I rang them to give me a price first-just so I would know how many vouchers I needed to get-make sure you tell them that you are using tesco vouchers to pay.I think they let me book there and then and took credit card details for security.Ordered vouchers from Tesco and thats it really-just take vouchers with you and hey presto! We just back from Ballgally castle using vouchers-they are great to get a free couple days away!HOpe this is some help-this is the first time I have posted on here!Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the reply. (It was my first post too). Did you enjoy your stay at the Slieve Donard? I've read mixed reports about it.

I recently exchanged some clubcard vouchers for £80 for Hastings.
I thought I might book the Europa - planning on 2 rooms for 1 night for a family of 5. (Wanted to go see Sound of Music and stay over).
Anyway I rang the Hastings booking number that Tesco provided and she said it had to be 1 room for 2 nights and quoted me £580 for the family for 2 nights!
I obviously declined and have been contemplating how to use my vouchers before June expiry. I now have more clubcard vouchers available to convert but I'd be interested to know which Hastings hotels are best and affordable before I convert any more??

That's madness! I was also hoping to go for 2 nights. I might have to forget about it, if it costs that much.
  • Ive stayed at slieve, everglades and ballygally with my tokens. The slieve and culloden are the dearest ones. The cheapest are ballygally and everglades I think, although there isnt much for a young family in either. The everglades was great for shopping in Londonderry or driving over the border into beautiful Donegal, ballycastle was across the road from the beach and you have the glens etc but again it was very quiet. We loved it as it was just the two of us-peace perfect peace!:rotfl:
You are better ringing the hotels direct because any offers or internetr prices they have cant be used with tesco vouchers-they quote you their b an b rate I think which is obviously more expensive-although still usually works out a good deal with using the vouchers. Our recent stay in Ballycastle cost us £65-00 vouchers for the two of us b an b.
hope this is some help to you!! ;)
  • sorry didnt answer question about slieve.we have stayed twice in slieve and enjoyed it.We never ate in the restaurant(too dear!) just our breakfast which was lovely.they have a beautiful spa(dear too!!) and so handy for Newcastle and all its attractions. As much as i enjoyed my stay I did feel it was a bit impersonal, very busy both weekends we stayed as there was weddings on.It was £100 in vouchers for the two of us b an b for two nights.
It is beautiful surroundings but I missed that homely feel you get in other hotels-thats just my opinion though.I have heard mixed reports too-I suppose it depends what you are looking for in a hotel.
