Hi just a quick question, if an item is significantly not as described, what is eBay’s or PayPal’s refund policy?
i.e. am I entitled to ask for a full re-fund including the original postage from the seller.
If any one knows and can provide me with a link to substantiate their comments I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks...

The ebay policy is that if you win the dispute you will only get the item cost back, less £15 and you will be expected to return the tem at your own cost and by a trackable method.
Hopefully you paid by paypal as if you win a dispute through paypal you get the full amount originally paid back, item cost and Post and packing, but you will still be expected to return the item at your own cost trackable.
If the item has been mis sold though any decent seller will refund you on return of the item wthout you having to make a claim.

Try these for size!
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&nodeid=56425&leafid=78766&prior_transaction_id=303206&answer_id=16777216
http://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&eloc=1632&loc=1619&unique_id=56462&source_page=_home&flow=
then follow all the various links as they wander all over the place.

.........wonder if this is linked to that IPOD question previously?
;-)
this is the link you need below, the User agreement
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_pbp
There is no specific statement as such (that I can see), however, the statement belows would imply that the FULL amount of the initial transaction is refunded.
the money you paid to post the parcel to the seller is NOT refunded, however, paypal may attempt upon request to get this refunded also (thats a new one to me)
a good seller, morally speaking should refund everything, provided you are in the right that is
................PayPal will reimburse you up to the maximum amount specified above [500GBP], and will use reasonable efforts to collect from the seller any additional amount you paid above the maximum.
.......................In some cases, buyers will be asked to specify the amount of the refund they would find acceptable to settle the dispute. If you specify a partial refund amount that is less than the amount of the original transaction, and the seller agrees to refund the amount you specified, PayPal will consider the claim to be successfully resolved.money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

if you funded the transaction with your credit card then contact them
otherwise, you're done, no way of getting your cash back, UNLESS you can get the sellers full contact details, then https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk is the way to go,
Oh, and send some frank emails off to the FSA while you're there alsomoney saving my @rse.
