laptop battery

hiya

i've not long bought this http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-0828.aspx i only use it with the mains lead - is it best to take and leave the battery out?

i don't use the laptop away from home which is why i only use the mains.

ta for any help

    well if you remove the battery the battery will completely discharge and you may damage the battery long term if is kept dead i would leave it in personally

    Provided it will run with the battery out (most will) the battery will last much longer, especially if you don't let it self-discharge fully (i.e.top it up every couple of months). But of course you lose one big benefit of using it - if you get a power cut you will lose some or all of what you are working on.
