Car insurance for my 17 year old son?

Hi guys, just wondering what insurance companies were the cheapest for newly passed 17 year olds, cheapest quote i have for my son driving a 1.1 corsa is £2,300...can this be beaten do you think? otherwise i suppose it's either six months insurance for him or i front him as a named driver. I have just insured my 18 year old son (18 today, was advised to wait until he turned 18, the price would drop a little and yes it did).
Went with Adrian Flux, with pass plus,on a 2000 plate Corsa 1.2, £1,314 TPFT..
