Home made tea stain cleaner anyone?

Hello all!

I have a quick question.

Does anyone know a good home made cleaning remedy for getting rid of tea stains from mugs?? All the ones i've seen involve bleach which i'm not keen on!

All ideas greatly received. :D

Try a soak with some diluted washing soda. Very cheap, and it works on badly stained teapots.

I need an industrial strength version please. :o
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I found years ago, that using bleech (although it did the job at the time) just made the cups more porous and made the staining worse. My mugs get a rub round with a normal dish cloth every day while in the washing up water, and I find that keeps them pretty clear of stains.
  • I find salt on a damp cloth works well.

    It's only a game

Used to steal my mam's denture tablets for this job. :rotfl:

Salt or soap powder on a cloth works too

Denture tablet left to soak overnight, then a quick wipe. Does the trick.

Denture tablets x 2 ( good quality) put down the loo overnight will also help clean the pan.
  • Vote 3 for denture tablets. Especially if you can get Tesco Value ones at 99p for a tube.
