12 X £12.99 £158.88
But you will need to buy extra to cover cuts and wastage.
plus underlay same again cost of underlay per mtr x 12
Are you sure its £12.99 per metre or £12.99 per pack.
Pack sizes vary from 1.5 mtr to 2.3 mt per pack.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Just because it is this site, £11.99 seems quite a lot for laminate flooring - I presume it is laminate, not with a layer of real wood? They are usually much of a muchness quality-wise, and places like Floors2Go have offers at the mo for about £3.99 a metre. Also, contract laminate is usually better value, as it's built to withstand heavy traffic in places like pubs etc so usually wears better. Make sure you buy a tube of laminate putty, because no matter how careful you are, you will chip at least one board, and the putty can be used to fill the damage - works a treat! Also include the cost of beading round the edge to cover the expansion gap, unless you're planning to take the skirting off.0

Thanks very much for the advice.
I can confirm it is £11.99 per sq metre, it is in the Topps tiles magazine , 7mm thick with a Unilin locking system and 10 yr guarantee .
So for my measurements will it be 12 x £11.99 plus any glue or beading?0 -
Just as a point of pedentry, if you go into a shop and ask for 12 meters square of flooring, you are actually asking for 144 square meters. I suspect though, you might notice before you pay the bill.

Ah! It's Quickstep then. Might be worth your while looking round a bit more first - for instance, UK Flooring Direct have some colours at under £7/sqm: https://www.ukflooringdirect.co.uk0 -
To be honest the 12 sq mtrs x the square meter price is basicaly a good rough guide, however if you go into the showroom and give the salesperson your size they will do the work for you. As a good guide you should be paying about £180 including a decent underlay. Beading will be about £30 and a door bar about £6. All in all approx £216
To find out exactly how much laminate:
room sq mtrs plus 5% wastage/cutting if its fairly square ie: 20
find out how many sq mtrs per pack ie: 2
divide room size plus wastage/cutting by pack size
= 10 in this case
to find out how much a pack is
multiply the pack size by the price per square metreI have nothing better to do!!!!

My only advice is......The bit you cut off after laying your first row, use it to start the next row.
i.e, if working left to right....the cut off from the right is used to start the next row on the left.
This removes most wastage and keeps the boards equally seperated throughout the room(if you have a square room). :money:
