This thread is about the experience of the Customer service of Santander

Santander don't have any customer service. From personal experience, if you value your sanity, stay well clear.
  • I'm in the process of leaving them. I won't miss their 'excellent' customer service and their petty charging regime one little bit!

Are they really that bad? Me and OH were going to open an account with them as we are going to Spain for at least a year in July...I thought they'd be the best bank for this?

Don't go there, they are even worse in Spain.:(

The transactions were recurring transactions that the company were not suppose to take and i couldn't stop. This thread is about the experience of the Customer service of Santander, not for people like you to take the moral high ground about how people manage their accounts.

Recurring transactions are a in a whole league of their own, and coupled with Abbey's bad customer service you have no hope!

Visa Electron &Visa Debit were never really designed for recurring transactions and just did them through default, normally you could just processes them without any authorisation which defeated the object!
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

If you post on a public forum you can expect certain replies. There is no moral high ground about managing accounts. The paranoia stems from you. If you think there is a moral high ground issue in making sure you have enough money in a bank account before you use the card then you are bizarre. It is purely common sense to check it.
  • PC Kent, do you have any connection with Santander?

Just an observation based on your posts to several threads that criticise them.

You cearly have a vendetta against Santander, just an observation based on all your posts. My favourite was you crying about compo because you couldn't get any shopping on a Sunday afternoon.
  • Ah, Mr spurs_nut, I have been expecting you. You and PC Kent seem to go hand in hand. Are you the same person?
  • My only connection is Sun Hill

Well as an Officer of the law, As you are keen to point out, you should be dealing factually and accurately,

The tread is about experience of customer service, not about how accounts are managed.

As you don't even have an account with the bank in focus, I don't see why your even posting on the topic.

Stick to policing the streets mate, instead of the fourm, might do you (and the tax payer) some good.
