Need hotel in Florence

Can anyone recommend a hotel in central Florence, please, for a 5 night stay in April. Looks like you need to pay about £75 - £90 per night in April to get even an average double room with facilities. This would be acceptable providing the place is OK. Thanks.

  • https://www.venere.com is generally very good and particularly for Italian hotels.

We've booked the Hotel Caravaggio for 3 nights in March at 68 Euros per night. It's got good reviews on Venere.com.

Also try Octopus Travel as my parents have booked the Hotel Machiavelli Palace through that for about £50 per night for double room with ensuite and breakfast.

Thank you, VickyA, the Machiavelli Palace looks fine but, believe it or not, it goes up to £120 a night in April which seems to be the start of the high season.

PS VickyA, the Caraveggio goes up to 98 Euros in April which is still pretty good value compared with some I have seen. Thanks.

Crikey, I'm sorry Wadewade! Blimey. What a lot of money! Good job that I'm there in Feb/march then!

Out of all the hotels that I looked at for Florence, the Caravaggio always seemed to have consistently good reviews.

  • There are lots of hotels outside of florence with easy bus / train access into florence. Try Pisa or Lucca they are about an hour away. Florence hotels are very expensive and if you are there for 5 nights you might appreciate a break outside of the city as it is a very busy place.
The best work is the cheapest as the quality remains long after the price is forgotten
