I have recently bought a shiny new laptop - Samsung R519.
Just wondered what is the best way to consolidate my MP3 or photo library. I have them on external hard drive, recorded in various bit rates etc.
It is possible to copy and consolidate my library in some way shape or form?
I have a piece of software given to me at work by Magix, one called photo and graphic designer, the other a sound editing one.
More concerned with my MP3's at the moment, would be good to get them all in the same place, similar volume levels, bit rates etc.
I have Nokia Ovi installed as I use a N95 8GB. My work phone is an iphone, but i prefer to sync on my work laptop.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hi
It's not a good idea to alter the bitrates of mp3 files.
If there is a lot of variation in the volume levels then there's a program called mp3gain that can reset them.
Here:-http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

Forgot to mention the 500Gb on my laptop and a 500Gb external drive. Media Monkey rings a bell. ThanksProud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

Re-rip your CDs to the bit rate you would like. The best for size and quality is Lame mp3 vbr V0-2.
If this isn't possible just copy them as they are.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
