What to do with money from sale?

Hi, this is my first post on this website so apologies if I have posted in the wrong place.
We have just completed on the sale of our house, but we won't be completing on our new house for about 1 month.
Does anyone have any suggestions about investments etc for 1 month that are low risk - we don't want to lose it all!
Any advice gratefully received

Have a look/post on the investments and savings thread on this forum, you'll get a more of a response I think.0

Would your solicitors hold it in their client account perhaps? That might offer some sort of interest.0

Talk to the bank and see if you can invest it on the money-market on overnight deposit. That's what banks do with their depositors' funds adn it can be a right nice little earner. Look at their profits! That way you will have access to it at any time and be earning interest on a daily basis0

What? And get half a percent per annum in interest? They'll be lucky to get a the price of a couple of cappuccinos on the proceeds0 -
Just look for an instant saving account with good interest rate... I've got A&L Online saver at 3.5%, and that is where our bond money 'rested' for a while while we decided where to move them next.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Agree about looking for an instant savings account but still think the OP could do with going over to the savings/investments thread and asking there. There are a lot of people on there who keep up to date with the best accounts of the 'moment' so to speak.
PS - ginvzt - that rate is great

Your own bank will probably have an instant access online deposit account that will allow you to deposit the funds and with draw when you like.
I had a short period between sale and purchase once and the solicitors wanted to charge me £47 to Transfer the funds to me, I declined and got a cheque but remember the timings to clear when you have to return the money again.0
