Getting MMS and settings for Nokia 7260

My work colleague has been given a Nokia 7260 to replace an old PAYG mobile. It is second hand but from his brother so there's no worry about it being dodgy.

After going through the settings process on the 02 website he recieves a text with the settings. When pressing save the phone prompts the following: only 10 sets allowed. settings will be discarded.

Followed shortly by another text from 02 that says the settings should now be active (they definately are not)

Tried to do this process three times and getting the texts through ok but settings will not save.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Try entering the following code on the main screen:-

*#335738#

This should delete the mms & wap settings on the phone. All you should need to do then is re-download the new settings from O2 and all should be well.

Failing that you may have to enter the settings manually over the top of some that are already in there.

Ah, never mind. It must be that some codes only work on certain types of nokia.

Well then, unless there is an option to delete settings already in there, then you'll have to manually enter the settings over the top of what is already in there. Take a look at this site, it shows the individual settings for both PAYG & contract mobiles. If you work your way through what is already on there you should be able to spot what you need to change!
