Deposit Deductions

Hi
I moved out of my last rented property on the 31st Jan 2010. Today is the last day that the LL has to inform me of any deductions they are going to make to my deposit.
They mentioned on wednesday that the only deduction they were going to make was for the Check out. I pointed out that to date they haven't informed me of the cost of the check out (i know i have to pay it) despite written requests to them to confirm the amount I will be charged.
My question is; if they don't inform me today of the actual amount they are going to deduct do I still have to pay it?
I'm sure I read somewhere they have to make it clear what costs are involved

Well she replied. She sent me an email to my works email address (before she used to send to both home and works email) at 5:45 pm on Friday!
Very last minute not impressed at all and will be going in my letter of Formal Complaint to her boss along with all the other issues I have had with herTurning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
Very last minute
But still within the time frame.
Are you talking about an agent here or are you dealing with the LL directly? If its an agent, bear in mind that they have to wait for the LL to inform them of any deductions before they can write to you and tell you.
If you knew that you'd have to pay for a check-out, and a check-out is all you are being charged for, then surely its not all bad?0 -

If there have been previous issues these should have been addressed in writing at the time. Sending an e-mail on the second to last working day is not breaching any regulations. This is someone's livelihood, try to place a formal complaint about something of consequence.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
How about giving the worng bank details to transfer deposit into and when I pointed out the mistake the reply was 'whatever'!!!! She has been totally unprofessional and acted like a petulant child throughout.
Plus when we moved into the new house it was filthy. What really annoyed me was they issued us with a cleaning schedule (no issue with that) but the house on the first day of tenancy was so dirty it was nowhere near the cleaniness they expect us to hand it back in. When we pointed this out via phone an hour after getting the keys, they said they were too busy to deal with it. A month on we've had no feedback or apology:( All we wanted was for them to put in writing they understand to poor condition at the start of the tenancy (so it will be bear in mind when we move out) and an apology for them being so rude.
As a Landlord myself I would be furious if I found out me letting agent was treating my tenants this way.Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -

So why on earth do you think they will be investigated now when you are no longer a tenant?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
