Calls from companies claiming to wipe CC debts etc.

I now seem to be getting weekly calls to my mobile by various random companies asking if I've got any credit cards out, and claiming they can wipe these debts away because of some mis-sold contract mumbo-jumbo.
Of course I tell these people my financial affairs are none of their business and to remove my number off their database, but I'm starting to get fed up of these sodding calls now!
Does anyone else here keep getting them? The next time one of these jokers phones up I am tempted to say "f*ck off!" and hang up on them!
I'm thinking of finding out if I can sign my mobile number up to the TPS but seeing as we did this with our landline some time ago we still get unsolicited calls to it - albeit for someone that used to live here several years ago - so not sure there's any point seeing as it hasn't eradicated these pesky sales calls.
Blargh.

Maybe try screaming as loudly as you can into the handset next time? :rotfl:
A ringing earhole might provoke number removal. Or then again it might not!!0 -
You can register your mobile on TPS. I did and I never receive any marketing calls.
That said as they obviously already have your number (and they are clearly people with no scruples) I'm not sure how much difference it will make.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Lately I amuse myself by stringing them along and saying I have 10s of thousands that I wish to get written off, then when they get to the nitty gritty tell them that it is an old card and all in italian lira. Some still keep going with the pitch.0
