Gosh, I am sure the Mystery Company is making a profit!!!!
Porridge is bulky, cheap, healthy and you can make yummy flapjacks.
You could buy Christmas items like mincemeat or dried fruit - not very cheap but extra useful?
Tissues - I grudge paying for them!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Pasta
Rice
Potatoes
Onions
Carrots
Cabbage
Lentils
Tinned Tomatoes

I'm probably up to my limit there.
It'd be interesting to have a storecupboard list at a minimum value to do as much as possible.
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.

2 or 3 boxes dries peas
Onions
Carrots
Flour
Yeast

I'm cheating a bit cos me and OH are skint this week- and this was my actual shop. So far this week we've had loads of homemade bread and I've batched and frozen leek and potato soup, veg and ham soup, pea and ham soup, and a lovely french onion soup. Managed to make up lots of pasta dishes based on what was in cupboards already- and my 'weekly' shop came to £5.42.
OH says we eat better when we're skint that we do when we've just been paid!Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

When I do these shops I always pick a date when I would do my normal weekly shop. That way your not making a special trip and your also being paid to do what you would be doing anyway.0

i'd go with cornflakes and value loo rolls and some cheap large size shampoo and bubble baths.
Wish we could still get huge pasta for £1. The 3 kg has gone up to £1.99 in Tesco last night. :eek:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

I was just going to post this about the price of pasta. I was shocked when it went up to £1.48, even more now its gone up 100% from a few months ago!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

I saw that too. I can't believe the 100% increase. I will still buy it because it does mean quite a few meals at a low price, but just not as low as it was a few months ago
