  • Esqui, Thanks for the advice. I am waiting to hear from the head office. I have already decided (now that I have calmed down) that it is a good idea to let an engineer look at it. Our Gas fitter says that it looks like the oven has actually dropped at the back (inside the body) and could actually be dangerous, so he won't fit it. What do you mean by your last sentence? Do you think I am expecting too much? I think I am being reasonable as a gas fitter won't fit it, so it is not fit for purpose and could be dangerous.

Generally, damage claims have to be done within a few days of receipt - legally, after 12 weeks, the shop could quite easily claim you have 'accepted' the item, and damage on it would not be down to them. As they are going beyond this, and into what could be a costly area for them, it shows they are willing to help.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler
  • I understand that legally I am not entitled to my money back unless the item is faulty, which is why I will agree for it to be looked at by an engineer. At the moment I have a £1100 cooker sitting in my kitchen that I can't use, so I think the fact that I am a little "annoyed" is understandable.
