Taking own DVD player to Butlins

Anyone else done this?

If so, what type of connection did the TV have? I know sometimes in hotels etc that the TVs dont have a SCART connection and its something different and I dont want to take 10 million leads. LOL.

Hey there we have had trouble doing this, we have either bought our laptop to watch dvd on or once we even bought our sons little dvd combi telly. We often remember to bring a double plug extension too as there is only one plug on the wall by the tv.

Good point. Sometimes the TVs in hotels and the like dont have SCART connections either.

It might be worth checking to see if they have a tv/dvd combi before you go?

Depending on what type of accommodation you have booked, you may get a dvd in your room anyway.

    Nah. Not in STANDARD accomodation.
  • When we go we take a set top box use the scart leads without any problem. Don't forget to take an extension block as we only had 1 plug for the tv and had to nip out to Tesco for an extension.

Have a geat time, my little boy loves Butlins.

Don't forget your duffer. We used to take a small digibox and dvd player but since regions are now virtually switched over we usually take a universal programmable remote and dvd player. That means we can program the tv to change stations, sometimes they don't give you a remote in the room.

Take a coax (arial) cable as well as your scart.

  • We were in silver accomodation at Skegness and we had a very basic portable tv in our accomodation and we couldn't connect the kids dvd players because there was no scart connection, so I guess it's down to luck what tv you get.
