warning abt takeaway delivery drivers

My friend got her bank statement in and found 6 recent transactions to mobile companys to top up phones , this had been over a 2 day period and luckily her statement was received soon after. she queried it with her bank who involved the fraud squad as they thought her card had been cloned but eventually found out that when she had ordered a chinese takeaway to be delivered she had to present her card with her cheque it appears the driver noted down her 3 digit security number from the back of her card and got the rest of the details of her cheque and used it to get top ups for a couple of phones.. she was lucky as she got her statement a few days later if it had been at the start of the month might not have noticed it for 3 weeks and god knows how much they would have taken out by then ... BEWARE people when handing over your cards

Thats shocking
I don't suppose even paying over the phone via a card and signing later is any better. Since any delivery driver can still remember the 3 digit code and get the keyed info from the receipt.

any shop you use your card in with a dishonest assistant can do this .. i always check my balance every day online with my online banking facility, and if anything showed up that shouldnt then i would be onto it straight away..
