Will The Banks Refuse To Pay Me Even If I Qualify On Hardship?

I now have a mix of 7 different bank and credit cards am due £10,000 on. I would say about £8,000 of that was cos of charges!

1. All of the cards were sent to debt collectors so am forever getting phone calls and letts from various companies

2. I dont pay any of them the money cos with the £100 i get on incapacity benefit, after bills and food am left with nothing

so Cos I dont even pay any of the companies money, can the banks just say to me

"well considering you dont even pay us anything why should we even refund charges?"

Thanks

  • On credit card accounts reclaim the charges to reduce the overall debt.
if you don't pay anything to them then they are not causing you any financial hardship at the moment(by definition).
You have to ask the bank otherwise you get nothing. Reclaim the credit card charges firstly though.

    ok so i should

    1. reclaim credit cards charges straight away
    2. then start to pay my banks back but as small as possible
    3. then try to reclaim the bank charges?

    is this correct? thanks

p.s since all of my accounts are at debtors now, say for instance my virgin card is £3000 and they offered me £2000 and i took it, would i get the £2000 or would after the banks gave the debtors the £2000 the debtors would say i was only due them £1000 now? thanks
