Personal Accident insurance

i am self employed and need some personal insurance to cover my small family if i am unable to work

has anyone got any ideas or suggestions please

    You have permanent health insurance (PHI) or mortgage accident, sickness and unemployment (ASU) insurance.

    Both have pros and cons and often a combination is best. Self employed do tend to have less benefits under ASU as unemployment doesnt mean no jobs on presently ;)

    PHI has a rather wide variance in the levels of cover depending on your budget. There is no standard wording to differentiate between these levels. Either you need to research each and every one yourself or get an IFA to do it for you.

    Oh, and its best to avoid personal accident protection (PAP). These policies are cash cows to the issuer and a complete waste of money.
