For the most part, Merc. dealers are mince. Sadly a lot more of their cars are also going the same way... Might be worth calling the head office, you've got nothing to lose.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

Thanks for all the input guys...
Am I in my right to ask them to part exchange the car so I can buy a new one? Because i'm not happy taking the car back anyway!!0 -
If its under warranty then it'll be fixed. You could end up with same problems on the next car. And the next car...0

Oh yeah, I'm sure the garage would be more than happy to sell you another car and give you a rubbish price for your engine-less one. If you've got a courtesy car just enjoy it adn let them take their time with yours. If you were without car it would be a different story!0

We did this once on our old 2CV that had been in an accident and was being repaired under insurance. It was delivered back to us without a bonnet lining, so my dad sent it back, and we had the brand new courtesy corsa for about 3 months! Which was much more comfortable and nicer to drive than the 2CV. And then I seem to remember them not picking the corsa up for ages after we had the 2CV back. And we for some reason had a 'spare' car sat on the driveway so we didn't really need it. Anyway, I digress.
Although of course you're well within your rights to be unhappy with this situation and to want your car back asap.0
