  • Just quickly off the top of my head - knackered and off to bed now! - you could try the National Rail Museum, which is free.

I'd second the NRM - loads to see there.

Hubby was in York last Saturday and did the NRM and loved it -
A colleague raved about York Minster, haven't been myself.

  • There is so much to do here. How old are your kids? National Railway museum is free and only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. There is also York Dungeons, my eldest loves it there, normally money off vouchers in hotels and things, Castle museum which was the old York prison, has different museum exhibits in, nice for a wander around, Jorvik which is the Viking Nuseum, we find this a bit boing and expensive for what it is, the Dig which is an archological dig type site, good for little ones who are intrested in history. The minister but that is fairly dear again for what you can do. National trust house near the minster too. A few smaller museums and things dotted around. if monday is a nice day what about a walk on the walks to see the city from a diferent view. Just trying to think of a few things off teh top of my head. Hope you have a lovely day whatever you do x

Age 10, 12 & 15, I was thinking of the dungeons as I went there on a school trip many moons ago.
    Any vouchers anyone for dungeons?
Booked the Knavesmire Manor Hotel, manage to get 2 room for £120
