Employment Tribunal ... what are my chances ?

Hi Joanne ,
Yes , I am taking huge satisfaction at the amount of money (alledgedly £15'000 at the last count) they seem to be throwing at this case . I'm thinking that they've most probably invested so much time and money that they can't back down now and really have no alternative but to chuck a few more grand in defending my claim in the hope that they might claw some back .0 -
UPDATE .
Well , still here and still waiting .....and will be till end of Febuary 2011 as thats when the Tribunal ( for the 7th time ) have set the date , 2 and half years after I was dismissed . Will my ex-employer attempt to postpone again .....mmmmm I'll let you know .0 -
UPDATE .
Just to let you know I'm still here , all quiet at the moment , absolutely zero contact since the last postponement ......5 weeks to go and I'll have my day ...or will I ? Hopefully the last 2 and a half will not have been wasted .0 -

Hello!
Sounds like your ex-employers are a nightmare. Mine tried it on by saying the barrister they wanted was unavailable, they didn't get away with that. That very same barrister then turned up on the day, where we then got postponed due to a lack of judges available. My new tribunal date is in one month (I am only ten months in) and I dread the thought of any further delays, it's a body blow to be denied justice.
The panel will definitely take into account your ex-employers bullying requests for costs and frequent postponements, this really sounds like a case they should have settled a very long time ago! My ex-employers costs are probably hitting about £30K now, even in less time, as they have thrown so many consultants and mud at me all year, worse still for them, none of it is admissible as it is so out of date (3 years before my dismissal). Why? God knows, I think they are trying to bankrupt me out of it. The longer it takes however, the further their costs rise, as you pointed out, it's crazy.
Here's to a good outcome, I will be hoping for an update0 -
Hi ,
Thanks for the reply , it is truly bizarre isn't it .
Why employers take this route is beyond me , sometimes I think that they're waiting for me to kick the bucket . They harp on that I've absolutely no chance of winning but do everything possible not to show up and when the did were totally humiliated by the judge . Seems strange that a company would waste huge amounts of money when it would have been easier just to hold their hands up and admit they had made mistakes ...........would have been a lot cheaper .0 -
