Cheapest wedding ring?

Options
Hi all,

I'm looking to buy as cheap a wedding ring as possible - I really don't want to spend more than £20 if thats possible?! I should maybe explain that I'm not actually getting married but am looking for a man repellent for travelling alone...:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm just looking for a gold (looking?) band - Any suggestions?

PS Apologies if this is not in the right place

I bought a plain silver band when I was pregnant and swelled up like a balloon, so my proper wedding band didn't fit. Noone would've known it wasn't white gold/platinum, and was of course much cheaper than a gold one, certainly less than £20.

Hope you have a fab trip!

Sorry to be the bearer of a bit of bad news, but a wedding ring wont stop the attention, if the man is determined to give you attention when travelling alone, he will do
It does happen, and when your not expecting it either, you think your safe wearing your wedding ring, engagement ring, being reserved, keeping yourself to yourself, but some chancer could still chance thier luck.

I am not saying that will happen to you, but please dont think by wearing a wedding ring will stop them trying thier luck, I eak from experience, and it wasnt pretty.

Where are you travelling to if you dont mind saying?
  • Avon recently had a very realistic engagement ring and wedding band (silver colour rather than gold though) for £15 the pair. Sounds like that would fit the bill?

i bet your going on a cruise! hmmmm you just want to enjoy yourself without peeps thinking your on a husband hunt!!
argos hun - but get an engagement ring too! looks more authentic and if you can run to it - an eternity ring! that really puts them off! but you had better get a good story about why OH isnt with you!!!
  • Thank you for all your helpful replies! I'll have a look in Argos at the weekend as I'm leaving on Sunday so no time for mailorder etc!

Misgrace - yeh I know that it won't stop the more persistant but anything that reduces hassle will be welcome! Also planning long, loose tops / trousers etc. Am heading to the Middle East - planning to say my fake OH is back at the hotel with food poisoning and oh look at the time I better get back and check he's ok.....!! :)

if it is a man.. tell them you are gay,, have 8 children (that works for most) or that you are just stopping a day or 2 to get your STI's under control
if it is a woman tell her you are married but left hubby in bed as he is unwell

Failing that.. those 2 invaluable words work amazingly well.. EFF OFF!!! not quite so classy but very effective said in the right tone.

I also found if you mention to the doorman in most bars that you are on your own and not 'shopping' they will keep away lechs

Have a lovely time.. where you off to?

  • Have a good time and don't worry unduly.... maybe you won't get hassled at all? (On the other hand, if you do, enjoy it..... one day - when you're old and grey - you probably won't and then you'll regret what you've missed!)
