First Plus PPI - Success

Just to let everyone know on this amazing site . We had a claim for PPI with First Plus they rejected us and offered £3000 as a good will gesture. Thanks to this site we went to the FOS and we have received a letter today to say they are upholding our complaint. So we will be getting back 4 years worth of PPI + 8% interest and our loan resructured.

One quick question FP won't try and put our refund towards our loan ? Will we get the refund paid to us? We have no arrears so hopefully.

Once again thanks to this site for the inspiration

Thanks . With interest should be about 8K :T

It's great to be able to stick 2 fingers up to them after the way they have treated us over the last 4 years

leeagt, I'm interested in your case as I'm considering claiming back from firstplus also. My loan was taken out Jan 2006 for £20000 over 25yrs, PPI was for 5yrs and we were told we'd get that back at the end of this time. Are there any similarities to your story?
    thanks

Hi, was it Firstplus that sold you the loan and policy cause if you used a broker then you would make the claim against them?

    Hi Flossie,

Sounds exactly like my claim. FP offetred me £3000 to be paid back into the loan as a goodwill gesture. Saying that they did not mis-sell PPI. So i went to the FOS who within 3 weeks ruled hat it had been mis-sold. I got back just over £7000 and had my loan reduced by £150 a month, :T

If you need anymore help let me know

    hi, congratulations on your win!

I have had an offer of my ppi back also 6122! which was taken out in 2002. I understand firstplus are paying back the ppi onto the loan as if it had never been taken out so will reduce the loan i have by 6122, it is only the payments you have made plus interest on those payments that they will pay back to you directly.

i am happy with that because i want to get rid of my loan with them, but i am still waiting 3 weeks after the offer because i asked them to send me the calculations out, they seem to find this part difficult for some reason, i have given them till next week then i will go to FOS, because i feel they have had long enough!!

wow! well done! don't think our numbers will be as large as that but I want back what we were conned into believing we had to pay. I'd forgotten we used a broker but thats ok, have sent the SAR off to central capital and look forward to proving they mis-sold to us.
