Help please washing machine wont power up at all

:o:o My washing machine wont power up at all - no lights or anything. I changed the fuse and the lights came on then blew again ....

Anybody know why this might be happening?

TIA

It could be any one of several reasons. Any advice on here would have to be complete guess work. Unless the particular model of machine is prone to what are called "stock" faults and even then it would require someone with a knowledge of that particular model and make.

Might be nothing to do with the machine at all. It might be the socket! Is it tripping the circuit protection at the consumer unit?

    Cheers

  • There is a short somewhere in the machine (but not shorts in the drum!).

You wont get a definitive answer without more details and possibly someone actually looking at it, but post your question and more details at the forum at www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk and they will narrow it down I'm sure
  • Thanks for taking the time to reply guys. Sorry for the lack of info, I posted and then went off to do my own research. I changed the fuse again and it now powers up fine but wont start a program at all.

To be honest its a cheapo Beko that is 13 months old and the model is WM5120S, for some reason me and washing machines dont seem to get on. After spending just under £1500 in just over 3 years I decided on cheap ones from now on :(
