Spyware

On my old computer , I used to clean out once a month & often there were none.
I still use Spybot but notice that each day there are 7 or 8 "spys" attached even after cleaning the previous day.
This problem appears (but I cannot swear to it) after a subscription to Government Auctions Uk - I have made a posting about this organisation on the Rip Off board but their Terms & Condions appear to authorise the placement of spyware.
Could this be the problem & how do I stop it?
I use Zone Alarm for virus & firewall.

Do you have SpywareBlaster installed? This will often prevent Spyware being installed in the first place. AdAware and SpyBot (and other, similar, programs) will only remove it after the event. Firewalls and Anti-Virus programs will not really help you to avoid most Spyware.

Have you run Adaware, Ccleaner and the microsoft spyware cleaner? also very useful to have Spywareblaster installed. If all else fails download Hijack-this from this thread and put in its own folder. Run a scan and save log, post it here for others to look at or on any of these sites.

there might be something in your registry which this might help with.
Peter.
Sorry Lincs Lad types faster than me.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Not necessarily faster, I just go for one step at a time.
To each their own.0
