Easiest way to change lots of direct debits to another bank

I want to move my direct debits to another account but there is quite a few of them. Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to ring each one??

Moved from Bradford+Bingley to Yorkshire BS last year.I used switching service but also phoned them up.When Abbey took over B+B they tried to switch them back,I had a few problems because of shabbey however I could refer to phone calls made to them and the dates and had no problems sorting it out.
