I have just gone through my BT bill call by call and in one month have discovered they have charged me for 6 calls that did not register any call time. Admittedly they have credited the value to my account, but they did try to say it was where I had called and not cut off before the other end picked up, but then it would show call time! So, they had no choice but to credit - dont' let them do it to you. Also check you are being charged the correct price for each call, another little trick of theirs!
