OK, a serious answer this time, try Quidco and Green Flag, I managed to get a years basic breakdown cover for £2.

Cost £22, refunded £20 from Quidco.:)

I've been looking at this one http://breakdown.insurancechoice.co.uk/compare.php IC breakdown. Seems to get good reviews, and yet to find a negative comment.

Apparently they recover to any place of your choosing (a la AA Relay which costs a bit) with levels of cover from £29, and have seen some reviews stating people have happily had their cars towed 100 odd miles. If you DIY on your own cars, then this seems a good choice instead of AA or RAC taking you only to the nearest garage.

Only thing that has put me off them so far is I put my details in online, they phoned my mobile which I let voicemail take, then they phoned my home phone and were eager to get me signed and paid up. Heavy sales tactics put me off, if a product is good enough it should sell itself IMO.

I never put my real phone numbers in these type of pages.:)

Autoaid if you want full cover for little money and without having to spend hours going through cashback sites or filling in forms or collecting tokens or shopping at Tesco etc etc

The RAC deals through Tesco clubcard are great value if you have enough vouchers :)
  • Cheers guys
  • I got AA basic cover for £28 at around Christmas. I went through Quidco to get £20 cash back but it never tracked for some reason. I always make sure I clear old cookies first so don't know why.

Note that Autoaid covers - rescue, recovery, at home and onward travel and is not the same as RAC and AA basic cover.
    Be careful when making comparisons.
