Own car and thinking of swap

Options
Just thoughts at the moment....

I have a Corolla 55 plate with just under 60k on the clock. It is now my car (was company) and no outstanding finance.

Had this car for over 3 years now and would like another car. BUT I would prefer to just do a swap for another car...is this possible or should I sell my car first (as far as I am aware it is worth around £4,000) and then buy one, or go to a second hand dealer and ask them about swapping it for another car.

Hypothetical at the moment as I need to speak to other half as well, she does not drive but will want some say in what I do !!!!
If the world is a stage... I want better lighting!

Keep it, one of the best cars ever made reliability wise.;)
  • Possible however if done via a dealer they will be looking to make something from the deal thus you will end up with a lesser value car, is it really worth it??????

I did it two years ago I had a 2.4 petrol, a change of job meant an extra 20k miles a year, the car was only about 15 months old but I did a straight swap via a main dealer for a car with less miles, slightly newer but more importantly for me a 1.6 Diesel, I swapped to a lower value brand namely from a Honda to a Mazda. The difference in the average screen price between the two was a few hundred quid, obviously the dealers profit/incentive in the deal.

You missed this one as well then.

"Toyota, meanwhile, faces more potential trouble after US authorities said they may investigate some models of its best-selling Corolla after receiving more than 80 complaints that its steering veers off-centre at high speeds."

Yet more interference from a government with a vested interest.:(
