Sky+ not always recording programmes

We've been having problems since Sunday with recording some programmes onto Sky+. Some are series linked but some aren't. It's recording some but not others and in a couple of cases we held down the record button and it started recording after a while.

The box is about 3 years old - does it sound as though it is on it's way out does anyone know please? Thanks!

i had this problem all i did was turn off the box at the wall take out the card & clean it with a soft cloth wait around 5 mins then inserted card and powered up box again give it a try.

Thanks but we've already tried that. I'd love HD box but OH thinks I've somehow done this on purpose !

My friend recently called out SKY after he had a similar problem the sky man showed him how to reset the box by holding down certain buttons whilst resetting it

this is all I can find on the net, hope it helps, i have not tried this but if nothing else works or no one knows a better way, it may be worth a try

we had this problem through january and used the above method several times, unfortauntely it still kept doing it.

Does it come up technical error 11 ? thats what we got.

ours was about 3 years old too, hubby gave in and got HD (after it was his programmes that kept failing - lol!)

Ooooo now that's interesting because it is OH's programme that won't record aswell ! Thank you!

It is recording Silent Witness atm but not The Bill. So seems to have a problem recording two programmes at the same time tonight but at least one is being recorded.

Oh well let's hope this continues and he gets fed up and we get HD. I suppose I could try getting HD free by doing what other's have done and that is ringing up to cancel but knowing my luck they'll just cancel me. I won't be very popular then !
