We live in a rented flat and at the moment have no home phone and I am getting broadband through my mobile broadband dongle. My contract is up this month and we would like something more permanent for wireless internet. The chap in our local internet store said to go with BT as they are the best but I am not sure after reading a few complaints about them on here . There is a bt connection in our living room so I am guessing one of the previous occupants had a land line at some point. I am not too worried about call packages as both me and hubby have mobiles with free minutes but I know if we don't get the landline we wont get wireless internet. Can anyone recommend who to go with for landline and internet that will require the minimal amount of messing about to get it sorted and that is reliable? We arent too worried about tv as we have freeview although I know hubby would be happy if we were to have more channels :rotfl:
thanks in advance for any help

BT have a free connection offer on until 16-2-2010 (that'll save you £124.99 if the line which used to exist in your flat is not eligible for free reconnection).
With a BT lne, you will be able to choose any ADSL broadband provider. If you rent you line from anyone else, you may be restricted to having their broadband too.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
