For a couple on months I had a problem where the computer either wont start or goes off. It come up with 'connection failed' or 'no dial tone'. On another thread it said how to check application and system log which I have done. It is full of red crosses. Looked at one and the message is-
Access denied attempting to launch DCOM server using ( then a load of numbers) DefaultLaunchPermission. The user is Unavailable/Unavailable SID=Unavailable.
Can somebody tell me what this means, please?
Also I'm having trouble with e-mails from one address sometimes taking 2 days to arrive, any ideas?
I'm on Pipex broadband.

This could be anything. Hardware or software failure (or both).
From what you say I'm guessing your computer "logs on" automatically to the net at start up. Is that right?
If so your computer may have a fault with the internet connection somewhere and it can't bootup properly without a good internet connection.
Have you contacted Pipex and discussed it with them? What do they say?
Can you give a little more detail and we can offer other suggestions.
If you can get online please go through the steps in the first 4 posts to this thread to try and eliminate malware infections as the cause (viruses, trojans and so on) .....
