when travelling between preston and chester, i often have to stand as the trains are fully packed. The worst i find is travelling on a hot friday, there always seems tobe an empty carriage due to the extreme heat so everyone crowds down the aisles, not a nice experience!0

Not happy with service on the train the fact that the train was under carriaged and there was no staff around to assist the old and incapacitated passengers.
Wrote a complaint letter hopefully will get a reply soon.
Normally have no problems with virgin trains but that service was terrible
Try the Reading to Paddington trains or the Earley (nr Reading) to Waterloo.....total joke...packed like tube trains...esp the cost - Reading to Paddington at Peak time is £30.90 a day which is criminal for a 35 mile/25 min journey.Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

bobbywomble wrote:what a lot of people dont know is that in the case of a hst service such as virgin cross country or voyager, the senior conductor (or on train manager as they like to call them now)
can in such times declassify a carriage from 1st class to standard.
they like to keep that one quiet.
this could be right result if your one of the lucky ones
the way to push for it is to inform the conductor of the problem tell him you know it is a "shortform" and ask him if he is going to knock a carriage down to standard class due to overcrowding....
if he says no, tell him you will call customer services and complain about the health and safety of yourself and fellow passengers
get his employee number and this will normally do the trick.
hope it helps

lol ...the only time I've ever had this happen was when I was heavily pregnant and found on a four hour train journey the seat reservation system was down so I had nowhere to sit.
A kind train manager saw me sobbing (hormones!) and ushered me to first class and also brought me free sandwiches and juice! I wrote a letter in praise after that!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0
