London Underground (long term) closures

  • I've already written to TFL and also the consumer body, London Travel Watch, and they're all standing by "the charter". Like we have a choice over accepting t&cs ... any lawyers out there fancy a name-making, headline grabbing case?

Re. comments on advertising in advance, as did an earlier poster, I bought my ticket in late December and was really having difficulty working out the cheapest way to pay. People often argue that if you take into account approx 4 weeks when you don't use the tube for travel, a yearly pass isn't actually good value ... had I known that for 7 months or so I wouldn't get any value from my tube pass at weekends, my decision might have been different.

Oh well ... I think I'm giving up - I will just go back to complaining bitterly about the terrible transport we endure in London like everyone else ... in Barcelona they have air conditioned carriages ... sigh.

Look up a band called the Amateur Transplants and listen to their Underground song. It's a parody of Going Underground by The Jam and is very amusing! Not for the kiddies, though...

I have to use the Circle Line and very much understand the line Where the  's my  ing train!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'd drive if I had somewhere to park. It would be so much nicer. HATE publilc transport.

I don't understand OP, have you already tried submitting customer charter refund forms for this? I would have thought that as it delays you by more than 15 minutes that you should be entitled.

I remember after the central line derailment they weren't so keen and then eventually they put in place a refund system whereby you didn't have to fill in the forms every time you made your 'altered' journey.

Yes, we could all take the bus, but we don't as the tube is quicker - bus to work for me one hour, tube 20 minutes - it's a no brainer!

Keep at them! Work out how much time roughly you will lose thanks to them and just keep going!
