Lowest commision for selling

Hi,

Whats the lowest commision people have paid by using the non-traditional sales routes (ie. no estate agent). I have heard some internet based companies charge extremely low prices.

Does anyone know how much it costs to advertise on rightmove.co.uk?

would be very interested in this.

There was a private sales website that feeds into rightmove as well, anyone know what that one is?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

Good evening: Try https://www.housenetwork.co.uk . Excellent service and lists on Rightmove as well as other major sites. As I've mentioned elsewhere on MSE, we used them to sell our home.

    Good luck.

You can't advertise as a private seller on Rightmove (nor now on Propertyfinder who have adopted the same "agents only" restrictive practice).

Only subcribers to their services will be allowed to list property so as a 'developer' you would need to set up a contract with them the same as an agent and pay their monthly fees - this is only viable if you have an ongoing volume of properties to sell - they won't give you a subcription contract for just one property.

Hence you need to employ an estate agent - Housenetwork are online 'estate agents' so are not a 'private sales website'. Expect to pay around £500 to use their service, but bear in mind this is a stripped down agency service so they won't be able to offer the same local knowledge or skills as a proper high street agent.

The better private sale pure-advertising websites (which won't list you on Rightmove) charge £100-£150. The leading contenders can easily be found by searching for "sell my house" on Google.

Don't run away with the idea that Rightmove are the only property website to consider - they don't cover the country comprehensively and are not as dominant as their statistics claim.

An awful lot of agents (and buyers) don't use them.

ours sold with an internet based agent, slightly more expensive than the private sale sites but it got us the rightmove listing and fish4homes listings that majority of private sale sites charge for anyway so the difference in cost negligble. Made our agency commission work out at 0.14% (or £345 in normal cash)

Actually a PLC so they are not owned or run by Estate Agents. They may have major share holders who are Estate Agents, though.
