Removed sticker has left awful mark on new wooden table - can you help please?

Hi,

My husband brought a side table yesterday and in his haste pulled the large price sticker off, taking what must be the varnish underneath with it! It looks awful!

Does anyone have any suggestions on what he can do or products we can use to cover or it up please?

Take it back to the shop, its not fit for purpose.

For future reference, I find that warming stickers with a hairdryer makes them far easier to remove. Just heat and peel slowly.

Also, WD40 is great for removing sticker glue and remnants of sticker. However, on something like wood check in a discreet area first as it can soak into the wood and discolour the finish!
