Energy saving lampshades?

Sorry about the title!
Our problem is that when we use energy saving bulbs in our table lamp the bulb sticks out of the top. Are there any taller shades around that would solve the problem? We know there are a few bulbs a little shorter and squatter, but they seem to cost £2-3 each.

There probably are taller shades around but they'd probably cost more than £2-£3. If you try a lighting specialist rather than the DIY sheds you'll find a lot of them have whole ranges of not just shades but light fittings designed for energy saving bulbs.

Yes, thanks for the suggestions, we wouldn't mind the extra cost so much on a shade as we would update and buy better quality. I guess a specialist shop would be better.

The bulbs may be more expensive, but as they last ages it's probably more cost effective than a new shade. Plus it looks nicer!

Not sure where you are in the county but Lighting Bug (Swindon and one in the North - you can phone them for catalogue - don't really have a website) are very good, as is lighting superstore (in Melksham but do internet order).
