As the title says, I've got a new laptop and wondering the best way to use it so as to conserve the life of the battery. It's been charged for over 12 hours now but just wondering whether I should be using it with/without power supply.

Depends on your usage go to power options in control panel and select balanced/power saver/ high performance option.0

i read somewhere that if your laptop is used primarily at home, its better to half charge the battery, then take it out and use the laptop via lead...spanky xx

I know some people who take the battery out when it's plugged into the power socket. Not sure if that helps to conserve it though it kind of makes sense not to use the battery unless it's being charged0
