Glasses insurance

Hi,
I've just bought some glasses from Vision Express, and my OH treated me to some Armani frames. We are going abroad for a year in July, and I'd like to insure them before we go.

I've looked at boots, but think you have to have bought your glasses from there, and my house insurance won't cover it.

Any recommendations? Thank you!

Why won't your home insurance cover the glasses?

I'm in student accommodation, so the house insurance is limited, and when I queried earlier today they said glasses and contact lenses are not covered, as most students will claim on their parents. That's not an option for me, though.

Have you asked your parents Insurers if they are covered under that policy?

I don't have contact with my parents.

Can't personally recommend any, but there are stand alone ones, google glasses insurance for a few names, then post back and see if anyone has used them for any comments.
