Having purchased a new car (to me), to find only one key is available, when enquireing about a replacement at Fords I find they want £180 for it. Has anyone knowledge of a less expensive way of replacing these keys.FORD Focus (Radio 3 Button) - Key Remote Programming1. Switch Ignition On/Off (II/0) 4 times within 6 seconds until a sound is made.
2. Press any button on Remote until a sound is made.
3. To program additional Remotes, repeat after 2 seconds after the sound.
4. Turn Ignition On/Off to exit.
5. A maximum of 4 remotes can be programmed.0 -
Try your local locksmith they can supply you with a new remote control key and program it for you to match your spare key/car, some don't need to see the car they will just read the info from the key you have. It will cost about the same as taking the car to a dealer, having a new key supplied, cut and programmed, about £120!
You can program a key (in the way as mentioned above) if you bought a blank from ebay but the problem you will have is the imobiliser will need to be programmed to match the key to the car.0 -
Thanks Pizzahutdave, I will try my local locksmith, its got to be worth a try!0
