    Exactly, when you lease - you have to comply with totally different 'rules'. Nothing to do with the block exemption - which says, garage must be VAT registered, must be serviced in accordance with manufacturers guide lines (ie every X amount of miles or annually etc) and genuine or OE parts to be used.

    If your independent tried to use the incorrect oil for your car, then they are obviously useless. These people give others a bad name. Suggest you name and shame them - that'll help pull their socks up!

  • jeannieblue - my and my colleagues experience is that most independants dont realise the requirements of VW PD engines, and unfortunatly I dont have a local VW specialist, however, VW dealer has just charged my 89 quid for a service including stamping the book, free coffee and a vallet so at that sort of money may as well give them the business.
